Prayer for the Generations

Good, good Father, in the name of my Lord, Jesus Christ, I thank You that we are entering a season of Kingdom advancement and prosperity.  I thank You for your Word that exposes and reveals the timing and strategies of the enemy.  I lift the shield of faith over my family.  I take the Sword of the Spirit and stand against every assignment of the enemy directed towards me, my family, my health, my finances, my church family and my pastor.  I thank you for giving me a spirit of prayer to defeat this enemy! (Eph 6:14-18)

I repent of anything that is not like You or that does not please You, so that the enemy will have no place in me, nor have any right or authority in my life. (Eph 4:27)  Let Your Holy Spirit fire burn away all iniquity in my life. (Ps 51)

Lord, I ask that you direct me in this battle against these demonic forces.   By Your Holy Spirit You have already given me power over demons.  You have told me to trample on snakes and scorpions. (Luke 10:19) You have assured me that you will deliver this enemy into my hands.  I receive Your battle plans.  I rebuke the spirits of fear and doubt.  And in the name of Jesus Christ, I stand firm in my power and authority! (Eph 3:20)

You have promised that “the seed of the righteous will be delivered” (Prov 11:21), and I stand on that promise.  You have promised to raise up Young Leaders to lead our church into victory (1 Kings 20:14), and I stand with my pastor on that promise.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke the manipulating and intimidating spirit of Jezebel: You cannot inflict poverty and infirmity on us.  I come against every ungodly stronghold.  Spirit of Jezebel, I bind you and cast you out! (Matt 18:18)

I rebuke every spirit of Athaliah that seeks to destroy the godly seed, and rob us of our future and destiny:  You cannot have ___________________ (person’s name).  I stop every plan of the enemy to destroy their lives, in the name of Jesus Christ.  Spirit of Athaliah, I bind you and cast you out! (Matt 18:18)

I speak confusion in the ranks of the enemy. (2 Chron 20:22-23)  I declare that his plans are unraveling, and will not prevail.  Every spirit of witchcraft, GO, NOW!

Now, Lord, I am thankful that You will sustain me and my family.  Good, good Father, give Your angles charge over us. (Ps 91:11-13)  Let Your angels minister supernatural strength to us, for we cannot win this battle in our own strength.  (1 Kings 19:5-8; Heb 1:14) 

I speak the stronghold of peace over my family and my church.  I prophesy the plan of God to prosper my family and my church, to give us a future and a hope! (Jer 29:11) 

In the name of Jesus I am advancing, and defeating the enemy, and every demonic assignment that comes against me, my family and my church.  I declare that the enemy’s plans are crushed like pottery into tiny pieces. 

I speak to the heavens: “Open over us!  Pour out of Your good treasure upon us.  Release the rains!  Showers of Blessing to refresh and renew us.”  

LORD, let Your blood cover and let Your glory be revealed! 

In the name of Jesus Christ!  So let it be!  Amen! 

Defeating the Spirit of Athaliah

Whenever we do anything that can cause Kingdom growth there is a specific attack against us – this enemy is organized & strategic

Evil spirits set their timing to interfere with our purpose

1 Kings 20:22.  And the prophet came to the king of Israel and said to him,

"Go, strengthen yourself; take note, and see what you should do,

for in the spring of the year the king of Syria will come up against you."

Demons depend on our ignorance of their methods and strategies to accomplish things

1. Knowing the enemy that is attacking us & that it’s using witchcraft strategies
2. Learning characteristics of different spirits – Jezebel; Balaam, serpent, fear, etc.
3. Knowing where the power is & why the attacks are aimed at our soul
4. Understanding our weapons:  Word, worship, prayer – the blood, testimony, money
5. Learning how to deal with spirits: since can’t kill them, displace them
6. Don’t fight alone

Another strategy in this season, against this house & the spirit behind it

The enemy is targeting young people – Especially Young Leaders & children

Here’s why he’s attacking Young Adults…

1 Kings 20:13-14

Suddenly a prophet approached Ahab king of Israel, saying, "Thus says the Lord: 'Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today, and you shall know that I am the Lord.'"

14 So Ahab said, "By whom?" 

And he said, "Thus says the Lord: 'By the young leaders of the provinces.'"

Then he said, "Who will set the battle in order?"  And he answered, "You."

Young Leaders are going to be our Deliverers, so

The enemy’s strategy is to Discredit the Young Leaders so they have no legitimate Influence & people won’t follow

Sun Tzu’s The Art of War:  The first factor of war is “moral influence.” 

It is that which causes the people to be in one accord with their leader, so that they will be willing to follow them in life and unto death without fear of danger.

The enemy attacks the credibility of the leader

• So the leader won’t be believed or appear trustworthy
• The leader loses his Influence, his good name, and the confidence of others

Lowering the influence of the leader so that following is optional

If the enemy is successful in his attacks on leadership

Look at the effect on the membership

Containment 

Luke 19:43-44.  For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side,  44 and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation." 

Contained:  no movement, no success, no progress, limited, controlled 

Robbing us of our destiny

All because we missed the timing / season

Wherever there’s destiny, the enemy tries to kill the seed

• Pharaoh tried to kill Moses
• Herod tried to kill Jesus
• Another spirit at work in our midst desiring to destroy the seed

Athaliah:  daughter of Ahab & Jezebel; wife of Jehoram, king of Judah

          Sister to Joram, king of Israel

Jezebel manipulated, controlled and cursed destiny

          Athaliah was purely destructive and power-hungry

2 Chron 22:2-3, 10

Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah the granddaughter of Omri. 3 He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother advised him to do wickedly.

10 Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal heirs of the house of Judah.

Jehu, taking the throne of Israel, killed her son, Ahaziah, killed her brother, King Joram, and killed her mother, Jezebel

Instead of mourning her losses, or instead of trying to take out revenge on Jehu, she killed all of her son’s royal male heirs – her sons and grandsons

Ruthless, destroys those with leadership gifts – those called to rule and reign

          Destroying the next generation is destroying the future

Spirit ambushes, moves quickly against you, overwhelms

Won’t let you set your feet – tries to attack before you can prepare for the fight

          This spirit doesn’t let go easily

God preserved the generation – Joash was hidden for 6 years

2 Chron 23:3-7 NIV

Jehoiada said to them, "The king's son shall reign, as the Lord promised concerning the descendants of David. 4 Now this is what you are to do: A third of you priests and Levites who are going on duty on the Sabbath are to keep watch at the doors, 5 a third of you at the royal palace and a third at the Foundation Gate, and all the other men are to be in the courtyards of the temple of the Lord. 6 No one is to enter the temple of the Lord except the priests and Levites on duty; they may enter because they are consecrated, but all the other men are to guard what the Lord has assigned to them.  7 The Levites are to station themselves around the king, each man with his weapons in his hand. Anyone who enters the temple must be put to death. Stay close to the king wherever he goes."

Jesus came through the lineage of Joash

Determine to fight in the spirit realm to preserve this next generation

Matt 11:12.  From the days of John the Baptist until now

The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

You have support in the unseen realm – Angels are on assignment

Matt 18:10.  "Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

Trust the Father with your children

Ex 2:2-3

And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. 3 But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river's bank.

Hold God to His Promise: 

Prov 11:21.  The seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Defeating Jezebel

2 Kings 9:22.  Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?"  So he answered, "What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?"

Jezebel is not just a person, but a spirit...

Rev 2:18-23

"And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass:  19 "I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.  20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 

21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.  22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.  23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

Operates in a spirit of religion

1 Kings 16:31-32

[Ahab] took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him. 32 Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

1 Kings 18:4.  For so it was, while Jezebel massacred the prophets of the Lord

• Comes off as more spiritual, prophetic, prayerful & knowledgeable (teach)
  • Causes you to lower your guard

Stops true worship

• Hinders praise & worship

Intimidates; Knocks off balance – especially after a spiritual high

1 Kings 19:1-3

And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time." 3 And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

• Causes to doubt God, self, etc.

Manipulates

1 Kings 21:25.  But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.

• To incite, to entice to be evil, to lead astray, to stir up causing to deviate

Steals inheritance (& source, resources) – 1 Kings 21

• Causes financial lack – Spirit inflicts poverty
• Discourage working principles of increase

Operates in illegitimate authority – 1 Kings 21

• “The Lord told me…”
• Doesn’t submit – independent
• Looks for a platform – often at their table (1 Kings 18:19)

Seduces – flattery, divisiveness, prophecies

• Wins people to themselves, rather than to the pastor & church
• Pit’s people against leadership & each other – accusations

Curses destiny

2 Kings 9:30-31

Now when Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she put paint on her eyes and adorned her head, and looked through a window. 31 Then, as Jehu entered at the gate, she said, "Is it peace, Zimri, murderer of your master?"

Emasculates – ability to reproduce

2 Kings 9:32-33

And he looked up at the window, and said, "Who is on my side? Who?" So two or three eunuchs looked out at him. 33 Then he said, "Throw her down." So they threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses; and he trampled her underfoot.

Brings a spirit of infirmity & suffering – Rev 2:22

How to gain Victory over this spirit 

Kill the witch – Ex 22:18.  “You shall not permit a witch to live.”

Rev 12:7-9

And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Displace, cast out:  Eph 4:27.   Neither give place to the devil.

Repent 

Acts 3:19.  Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord

Pray against the specific strategies 

Isa 62:8-9.  The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by the arm of His strength:

"Surely I will no longer give your grain as food for your enemies; and

The sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine, for which you have labored.

9 But those who have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord;

Those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts."

Rev 12:11.  They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 

Fighting the Unseen

Timing of certain negative events makes it very clear that what’s happening is a Spiritual Attack

1 Kings 20:22.  The prophet came to the king of Israel and said to him, "Go, strengthen yourself; take note, and see what you should do, for in the spring of the year the king of Syria will come up against you."

Springtime is the time for sowing.  If the enemy can cause you to fight, instead of sowing, he not only affects your springtime, but he eliminates any expectation of a harvest - because he prevented you from sowing. 

Specific demons have are assigned to specific tasks

Spirits assigned to inflict poverty and fear

Every attack costs us something – finances & faith

Quench the anointing by disappointment, intimidation & fear – i.e. Elijah, after Event

These supernatural forces of evil are skilled, organized and operate strategically

Eph 6:11-12

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (methods) of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Evil spirits specialize in areas

Lying, fear, hatred, depression, perversions, murder, stealing, rebellion,

Demons depend on our ignorance to accomplish things

2 Cor 2:11.  Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

They set their timing to interfere with our purpose

We cannot be ignorant of the season / timing

1. Recognize seasons: consistencies to the attacks of the enemy
2. Know what the Word says about his strategies
3. Learn from the testimony of others
   

Know where the power is 

Eph 3:20.  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

If the enemy can cause you to feel oppressed or depressed, traumatized, etc.

          You won’t function from a position of power

If the enemy shuts you down, he shuts your power down

Worship can revive you

Restores your soul to Verticle

          Sets into reverse the plans of the enemy

Ps 149:6-9

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand,

7 To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples;

8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 To execute on them the written judgment – This honor have all His saints.

Another one of Your Weapons is the Word – The Sword of the Spirit

        Don’t just read what the Word says

               Open your mouth & say what the Word says

Look at what the Word does to the enemy…

Matt 4:3-11

Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."  4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"  5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"  7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"  8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."  10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"  11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

The Word (Jesus) went to the Word (Scripture)

Why won’t the devil leave you alone?  Because you never say, “It is written…”

You must Know the Word

          Satan uses the Word – Jesus, Eve

Meditate on the Word

Mutter, speak – saying it to yourself

Eph 6:17-18.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

[Jesus] rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!"  26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why could we not cast it out?"

29 So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting."

Not just prayer, but a Prayer-Life

          PUSH - Pray Until Something Happens

Dan 10:12-13

Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.

Don’t fight a battle alone

1 Sam 14.  Jonathan did not go to fight alone

Two-fold accord; being in agreement, etc.

Gal 6:2.  Bear one another’s burdens

Catching the Pastor's Spirit

Matt 16:13-19

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" 14 So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

15 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"

16 Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."  

Jesus asked:  “Who do men say that I am?”  “Who do you say that I am?”

How you see Jesus will determine what you receive from Jesus

When Simon got the revelation of who Jesus was

It set the stage for Simon to become Peter, the leader he was destined to be 

          Because Simon can’t reach Peter’s destiny

This principle applies to your Pastor

          Who am I?  What am I made of?

When you get the revelation of who I am

          It should give you clarity of who you’re supposed to be with me

Without a revelation of who the pastor is, you won’t fulfill your destiny as a leader at AGF

If you don’t see the pastor correctly, you will resist the demands of Change & Excellence

If you see the pastor correctly, you will embrace the demands of Change & Excellence

“How do I get the revelation of who you are?”

Num 11:16-17

So the Lord said to Moses: "Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you. 17 Then I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone.

 1. Stand with the pastor & away from the congregation

• Catch my spirit and not the people’s

• Elisha burned his plow and kissed his family ‘good-bye’

2. Serve the pastor & his vision

• Elisha’s fame is that he washed the hands of Elijah – 2 Kings 3:11

3. Must have a heart to pursue & take risk – Elijah told Elisha 3x to “stay here”

• 50 stood at a distance: they could prophesy, but didn’t get the double portion
  • We give up too easily
  • We’re scared and stand at a distance

 4.  Ask questions to understand “Why?”

• Disciples were always asking Jesus questions “privately” about his ministry

5. Share my burden – “prophetic utterance”

• You will say the same thing, not because you are quoting me

But because you have the same spirit

With the revelation of who I am, you must get the revelation of AGF

To “build the body”

1 Cor 11:29-30.  For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep (or die).

Discernment leads to the Body being Strong, Well, Alive and Growing

When you discern the body, you notice when growth is stunted

When you do…

God will give you Keys

Unlock things in the heavens – leadership and building becomes spiritual

God will begin to give you Super-Vision

          For the part of the body you are responsible for

There will be Supernatural Release of Provision

Phil 4:19.  My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

This is directly related to your connection to me, as your man of God

 Phil 4:15-19

Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus

This brings us full circle…
